Drawing material
From our customers' drawings or samples, we work up drawing materials for presentation with our quotation which show the production possibilities of each item. On the basis of these drawings and/or samples and in concert with the customer, we devise the necessary production decision basis.

Hot-press tools
Metalpres has working relationships with many of the leading Danish tool-makers. When an order for a new item is received, Metalpres arranges for the necessary tools to be manufactured to the agreed specifications and drawing materials. An agreement for maintenance of the tool is drawn up individually with the customer.

Sample parts
After manufacture of the tool, a test pressing of the item is carried out. If necessary, the tool is adjusted. The sample is then sent to the customer for approval, together with a measurement report. When making the test pressing we also carry out any adjustments to the base weight which we use to charge our unit prices. If there are any changes to the base weight, prices will be adjusted up or down.

Production
Hot-pressing is carried out after precisely monitored heating of the raw material in temperature-controlled furnaces. The metal is pressed out in the tool cavity at pressures of anything from 100-600 tonnes, giving rise to a small surplus of material, which is removed in the next production stage.

Trimming
The surplus material is trimmed from the workpiece. For this trimming tools are used, which can be combined to perform several processes in one operation, according to the customer's requirements or the size of the batch. Surplus material is returned and recycled.

Machining
Metalpres currently holds a versatile stock of equipment for machining the manufactured articles. If machining necessitates equipment we do not have, we operate in cooperation with a network of independent contractors and can thus always offer our customers a competitive price.

Checking
In consultation with the customer, we set the primary dimensions, i.e. the dimensions which are vital for the functionality of the item. The item is checked at all production stages. The general tolerances comply with ISO 2768 and are given in our quality handbook. Finer tolerances can be achieved by the process at a higher unit cost.

Quality control
Together with the Force Institute, Metalpres has prepared its own quality handbook, which lays out the criteria we work to. A copy of the book is usually sent to new customers at the time of production.

Stocks
Many of our customers undertake continuous production of articles with us. To meet our customers' needs for reliability of supply and flexibility, we have set up a outline order system, which ensures that customers' articles are always in stock.
